This keyboard doesn't appear to have a MIDI interface but rather has a 'USB to host' interface.
Will this work - plug-&-play - with GarageBand?
If not, will an adapter allow the keyboard to work with GarageBand?
Failing the above, what keyboards are compatible with GarageBand - quality keyboards that work without adapters?
The more I look into this the more confusing it seems to get!

Well, I just bought one PSR-E413 for my 8 year old. Yes, it works with GarageBand, using the (Yamaha) keyboard as a MIDI input. Just install the OSX midi drivers from Yamaha and GarageBand will know about it. In the Audio MIDI Setup app on your Mac, choose Window Show MIDI Studio.
